The International Journal of Cognitive Computation (e-Cognito) is a pioneering all-electronic, peer-reviewed inter-disciplinary journal that provides a unique open-access platform for the dissemination of cutting-edge research, current practices and future trends in the emerging discipline of cognitive computation that links together neurobiology, cognitive psychology and artificial intelligence.

The new e-journal fills a gap in the literature by establishing a forum for bringing different communities together to discuss key issues and challenges in the area of cognitive computation, many of which lie at the interfac between life sciences, social sciences, engineering and physical sciences.

The journal particularly welcomes cutting-edge articles describing original basic and applied work involving computational accounts of all aspects of natural or artificial information processing systems, including those responsible for perception, learning, reasoning, decision-making, communication and action.

Original contributions using theoretical, experimental, computational and integrative studies in all of the areas of study in cognitive science, including artificial intelligence, linguistics, psychology, psychiatry, philosophy, anthropology, sociology, systems and control theory, biological sciences, neuromorphic systems, and neuroscience are also encouraged, as are submissions focusing on the development of the latest research into practical, fielded applications.

Audience:
Computer Scientists, Software engineers, Electronic Engineers, Systems designers, Information managers, Knowledge Engineers, Cognitive Scientists, Computational Neuroscientists, Neuromorphic Engineers, Psychologists, Linguists, Artificial Intelligence Specialists, Researchers, and professionals in such fields as finance, manufacturing, medicine, defence, and the sciences - all both 'pure' and 'applied'.

e-Cognito is provided free to its users; author fees pay the relatively modest cost of operating this e-journal.
